LOST YOURSERIAL NUMBER?

Ever lost your Sims game serial number. Well, never fear, there are some steps that you can take to try and retrieve your number.

Of course, prevention is better than cure. Perhaps next time, you should consider writing your serial number onto your CD. This way, you will never lose your serial number as long as you have your CD, and fi you lose your CD, you won't be able to reinstall your game in the first place.

Below is a list of the steps to take (in order) to retrieve your serial number. Please do not email ServoPro regarding any issue to do with lost serial number, these are the steps you must take, and ServoPro can not help you in any other way. We do not condone any sharing of serial numbers of illegal reproduction of software, including warez and other similar actions, hence we will not provide you with our serial numbers. Please do not ask for it. Nor will we copy the game for you.

So with that in mind, lets go through the steps required to retrieve your serial numbers:

  1. Log in as your master account at Maxis. Go to the REGISTER link. Go to the "Got Serial Numbers?" link and see if you have remembered to register it here on this site. If you have, you should see your serial number and be able to write it down to use to install your game.

  2. Go to http://www.simsplus.com and get yourself the Serial Number Retrieval Tool. It will check your computer's memory for it. This will only work if you have NOT reformatted (reintialised) your computer's hard drive and you had the Sims on the computer in the first place.

  3. If neither of those work, then this is what you need to do:

Fax the following information to Maxis on US 650-628-5900 or at whatever number is most local to you (check HELP for those):
a) Name
b) Phone number
c) Address
d) email address
e) a photo copy of the top of the CD so that Maxis can see the picture on top.

After receiving this information Maxis will normally fax back a serial number within 48 hours.

Go to the official www.thesims.com website and login in under your registered username. If you currently have the Sims or the Expansion pack installed that you are looking for your lost serial number from, you can search your computer's registry to find the serial numbers. Please note that this is dangerous to do and you should NOT use this method unless you have adequate computer knowledge to know NOT to change any entries.

Click on the Windows Start button and select RUN. In the field type regedit and press the enter key. This will open the registry editor for Windows.

Select the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE by clicking the + sign next to it. This will open the folder tree below it.
